Kuns for Kuns

Kuns For Kuns is a lockdown-inspired project led by AfrikaBurn’s Artcom. Its goal is to inspire and engage with our creative community, while raising funds for future artworks and art projects.

As you may know, Creative Grants will be honoured for the 2022 AfrikaBurn event (if there is one) but it’s very possible a Creative Grant pot won’t be available for the next event. Thus, Kuns For Kuns was born – collecting artworks from artists and creatives from around the world and preparing for the auctions to end all auctions.

Thanks to all of you who have donated so far – we’ve received so many great artworks that we’re going to have more than one auction date … Our first auction is now live, with a gallery opening (COVID regulations dependent) on the 1st July. Check out the first 12 works here, and see the event page here.

What's happened so far?

We’ve been progressing well with this initiative, and many artists and members of our community have come forward with a diverse range of contributions. And we’re accepting any form of art you may choose to contribute: it’s all art, and it can all be used to fundraise for more art.

We’ve launched the first round of auctions – and will be hosting a gallery viewing on the 1st July – if restrictions allow. Either way, the auctions are live and on this site. Ready for your bid!

All funds raised will go into our grant pot to fund Art Projects.
